Aircraft Museum Dhangadhi
Aircraft Museum Dhangadhi is an aviation museum located in Dhangadhi, Nepal some 500 km west from Kathmandu. It was established by former Nepalese pilot Bed Upreti and his trust on 17 September 2014 as the first aircraft museum of Nepal. The museum is inside a defunct Fokker-100 plane, which is 35.53 meters long and was operated by Cosmic Air until its shut down in 2008. There are around 200 miniature commercial planes and fighter jets on display. Along with the miniature planes, there are aerial photo gallery and cockpit cafe. The revenue from the museum is used to assist cancer patients. Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi ( ne, धनगढी ) is a sub-metropolitan city and the district headquarters of Kailali District in Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal.Dhangadhi is also the temporary capital of Sudurpashchim Province. It shares a border with Uttar Pradesh, India in the south, Godawari and Gauriganga Municipality in the North, Kailari Rural Municipality in the east and Kanchanpur District in the west. Fokker 100
The Fokker 100 is a regional jet produced by Fokker in the Netherlands. The Fokker 100 is based on the Fokker F28 with a fuselage stretched by to seat up to 109 passengers, up from 85. It is powered by two newer Rolls-Royce Tay turbofans, and it has an updated glass cockpit and a wider wing and tail for increased maximum weights. The program was announced in 1983 and it made its maiden flight on 30 November 1986. The variant was approved on 20 November 1987, and first deliveries to Swissair started in February 1988. American Airlines ordered 75, TAM Transportes Aéreos Regionais asked for 50, and USAir got 40. It is the basis of the shorter Fokker 70, which made its first flight in April 1993. Cosmic Air
Cosmic Air Pvt. Ltd. ( Nepali: कस्मिक एयर) was an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It operated scheduled domestic and international services out of Tribhuvan International Airport. After already having been forced to temporarily suspended flights in 2005 and 2006 due to budgetary constraints, Cosmic Air ceased its operations in 2008. History Cosmic Air was established in 1997 as a company wholly owned by Captain RP Pradhan. Flight operations started on 1 January 1998 with two Mil Mi-17 helicopters. In August 1998 Dornier 228 aircraft were added to the fleet. In October 2004 Cosmic Air acquired its first 105-seat Fokker 100 aircraft on lease from AerCap. Aviation Museum Kathmandu
Aircraft Museum Kathmandu is an aviation museum located in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, Nepal. The museum is inside an Airbus A330-300 of Turkish Airlines that only flew for about eight months before suffering a runway excursion at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu in March 2015. It was established under a joint initiative by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and pilot Bed Upreti and his trust. This museum was officially opened to public on 28 November, 2017. The museum's exhibits include the aircraft's original cockpit setting, model and miniature aircraft and items documenting the history of Nepalese aviation.
