Air Sinai
Air Sinai ( ar, سيناء للطيران ') was an airline based in Cairo, Egypt. It operated as a 'paper airline' for parent company Egyptair under a wet lease-like agreement to serve flights exclusively between Egypt and Israel. History The Egypt–Israel peace treaty signed in March 1979 stipulated that there must be active civilian aviation routes between Egypt and Israel. To fulfill the treaty, Air Sinai was established in 1982 to fly scheduled services between Egypt and Israel (on routes previously flown by Nefertiti Aviation), which for political reasons could not be handled by parent company Egyptair. Services started using a Boeing 737-200 leased from Egyptair and new routes from Egypt's tourist destinations followed. By the mid-1980s a Fokker F27 Friendship was also in use on these services. (JAA) was a subsidiary of Japan Airlines (JAL) which existed between 1975 and 2008. JAA was headquartered in the Japan Airlines Building in Shinagawa, Tokyo. JAA was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of JAL on 8 August 1975 and given the responsibility of providing air links between Japan and Taiwan, formerly offered by JAL. Direct flights between Japan had been suspended since April 1975, following the signing of a civil air treaty with the People's Republic of China. British Asia Airways Limited was a subsidiary of British Airways formed on 20 January 1993, based in Taiwan, to operate between London and Taipei via Hong Kong. History Due to political sensitivities, national airlines operating flights to the People's Republic of China were not permitted to fly to Taiwan. Australia Asia Airlines (澳亞航空公司 ''Àoyà Hángkōng Gōngsī'') was a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas set up to operate services between Australia and Taiwan ( Republic of China). History The subsidiary was established due to the People's Republic of China's objection to national carriers of countries with which it had diplomatic relations flying to a territory that it regarded as a breakaway province. The airline operated two Boeing 747SPs and a Boeing 767 aircraft seconded from the Qantas fleet, repainted in a modified livery, which did not display the Flag of Australia, or the kangaroo logo, which was replaced by a dynamic ribbon.
