Aicom was a Japanese video game developer, founded in 1988, possibly by a group that left Jaleco . Despite evidence to support this, the Sammy corporate website lists 1990 as the first year and that it was a subsidiary. It was bought by Sammy Industry in 1992. Their games include ''The Mafat Conspiracy'', ''Totally Rad'' and '' Vice: Project Doom'' on the Nintendo Entertainment System, '' Blaster Master Boy'' for the Game Boy and '' Pulstar'' for Neo Geo. Aicom broke off from Sammy in 1996, and with funding from SNK is a Japanese video game hardware and software company. It is the successor to the company Shin Nihon Kikaku and presently owns the SNK video game brand and the Neo Geo video game platform. ''Hoops'' is an Nintendo Entertainment System, NES basketball video game that was released in 1988 for a Japanese audience and in 1989 for a North American audience. In Japan, the game is known as , which a part of "Moero!!" sports series. The game is set to be re-released for the Evercade platform in 2021. The game is done in a half court style with the player having a choice to disable or enable winners outs. No fouls are called. There is also an Around the World (basketball), around the world mode that allows players to focus on making baskets without worrying about the charging, pushing, and traveling fouls that are found in the standard mode of play. Similar to Double Dribble (video game), Double Dribble the game features slow-motion sequences when the player goes for a dunk, though these can be blocked.
