Aheza Kiros
Aheza Kiros (born 16 October 1985 in Tigray Region, Tigray) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in the 10,000 metres. She finished fourth at the 2006 African Championships in Athletics, 2006 African Championships and seventeenth at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics - Women's 10,000 metres, 2007 World Championships. Running at the 2009 Adidas Track Classic, she beat Ejegayehu Dibaba in the 5000 metres in her first career sub-15 minutes performance of 14:56.33. She won the Carlsbad 5000 road race that year, but was runner up the following year to course record holder Meseret Defar. She was third at the 2010 Great Ethiopian Run in Addis Ababa, completing the course in 33:59 minutes. The following March she made her debut over the half marathon and took third place in a time of 1:09:10 at the Paris Half Marathon. Ethiopian Name
Ethiopians are the native inhabitants of Ethiopia, as well as the global diaspora of Ethiopia. Paris Half Marathon
Paris Half Marathon (''French: Semi-marathon de Paris''), known as the Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris for sponsorship reasons, is an annual half marathon held every March in Paris, France since 1993. Kenya's Stanley Biwott is the men's course record holder, with his winning time of 59:44 from the 2012 race. The women's course record is held by Pauline Njeri, who ran a time of 1:07:55 that same year. Around 30,000 runners took part in the event in 2011. 3000 Metres
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. In elite-level competition, 3000 m pace is more comparable to the pace found in the longer 5000 metres event, rather than mile pace. The world record performance for 3000 m equates to a pace of 58.76 seconds per 400 m, which is closer to the 60.43 seconds for 5000 m than the 55.46 seconds for the mile. Beach To Beacon 10K
The Toronto-Dominion Bank Beach to Beacon 10K is a road running event that takes place along the coastline of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It begins at Crescent Beach State Park and ends at the Portland Head Light in Fort Williams Park. Starting out as mainly a local event, athletes from all over the U.S. and various parts of the world now participate in the annual event, including some world-class distance runners, including Olympic Marathon Silver medalists Catherine Ndereba and Meb Keflezighi, as well as Chicago Marathon winner Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot.
