Agustín Edwards Mac-Clure
Agustín Edwards Mac-Clure (June 17, 1878 – June 18, 1941) was a Chilean lawyer, diplomat and businessman, and founder of the Santiago edition of ''El Mercurio'' newspaper. Early life Agustín Edwards was born in Santiago, the son of Agustín Edwards Ross and of Luisa McClure Ossandón. Career In 1900 he founded the Santiago edition of ''El Mercurio'' newspaper, using the same name of the newspaper he inherited from his father and that was published in Valparaíso. He also wrote and published some history books: ''My Native Land'', published in English; ''El Alba'' and ''Cuatro Presidentes de Chile'', that refer to the administrations of presidents Prieto, Bulnes, Montt and Pérez. In May 1941, shortly before his death, he authored the foreword of ''Trout Fishing in Chilean Rivers''. Elías Fernández Albano
Elías Fernández Albano (1845 - September 6, 1910) was a Chilean politician, who was acting president of Chile from August 16, 1910 until his death. He was born in Santiago de Chile, the son of Juan de Dios Fernández Gana and María del Pilar Albano Vergara. He was great-grandson of Juan Albano Pereira Márquez.He studied at the Instituto Nacional and later graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Chile. He was accepted to the bar on May 18, 1869. Ismael Tocornal
Ismael Tocornal y Tocornal, GCMG (April 5, 1850 - October 6, 1929) was a Chilean politician and diplomat, and the first Governor of the Central Bank of Chile. He was born in Santiago, the son of Manuel Antonio Tocornal y Grez and of Mercedes Ignacia Tocornal y Velasco. He completed his studies in the Colegio San Ignacio and at the Instituto Nacional. Trucco then attended the University of Chile, where he graduated as a lawyer on June 20, 1873. Early in his life he dedicated most of his time to his Hacienda San José in Puente Alto. Ismael Tocornal married Leonor Cazotte y Alcalde, and together they had one son. After the death of his first wife, he married a second time with Josefina Matte y Pérez, and they had one son, Domingo Tocornal Matte. Luis Fernando Izquierdo Martínez (born April 3, 1974) is a retired amateur Colombian Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. He has claimed two bronze medals in the 69 and 66-kg division at the Pan American Games (1999 and 2003), and also represented Colombia at the 2004 Summer Olympics. José Rafael del Carmen Balmaceda Fernández (August 23, 1850 – August 7, 1911) was a Chilean politician, diplomat and brother of President José Manuel Balmaceda. He was of Basque descent. Rafael Segundo Sotomayor Gaete (November 16, 1848 – February 16, 1918) was a Chilean politician and several times minister. He was born in Cauquenes, the son of Rafael Sotomayor Baeza and of Pabla del Carmen Gaete Ruiz. He studied at the Instituto Nacional and later graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Chile on January 7, 1871.
