Alex Agnew (born 22 December 1972) is a Belgian stand-up comedian and hard rock vocalist. According to the Nigel Williams autobiography "Had ik maar een vak geleerd" ("If Only I'd Learned a Proper Trade"), Alex was already an established comedian in Belgium since at least the 1999–2000 season. This is somewhat contradicted by the 2011 show "Larger than Life", celebrating "the best of Agnew 10 years on stage". Undisputedly however, he attained nationwide fame when he became the first Belgian to win the prestigious Dutch ''Leids Cabaret Festival'' in February 2003. Paddy Agnew (1878 – fl. 1958) was a politician in Northern Ireland. Agnew was brought up a Roman Catholic and held nationalist views. However his politics were also leaning towards labourism, and he had clashes with more conservative Catholic politicians. He formed the Armagh Employed and Unemployed Association in 1932, and the following year set up a local branch of the Northern Ireland Labour Party. Patrick Agnew (born 8 March 1955) is a former Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) volunteer who was elected to Dáil Éireann during the 1981 Irish hunger strike. Agnew was born in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland in 1955. His grandfather was also an Irish republican and was an internee during the Irish War of Independence. John Hume Agnew (October 18, 1863 – November 9, 1908) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1903 until his death as a member of the Conservative Party, and was a prominent cabinet minister in the government of Rodmond Roblin. Agnew was born in Prince Albert, Ontario County, Canada West (now Ontario), the son of Dr. Niven Agnew and Jane Somerville Ross, and was educated at Upper Canada College.
