Agios Stefanos Avliotes
Agios Stefanos ( el, Άγιος Στέφανος, meaning Saint Stephen) was originally a fishing village for the nearby village of Avliotes located on the north west coast of Corfu island. In 2011, its population was 176. It is located 35 km from Corfu town, approximate transfer time by car is 1h 15 min. It has a safe harbor on the north west side of Corfu Island, where the four Diapontia Islands (Othonoi, Erikoussa, Mathraki and Diaplo) can be seen, while further away the Adriatic Sea is the natural frontier between Greece and Italy. Fishing is still a very important part of the local economy. Agios Stefanos (Beach) attracts a number of tourists each summer. The village still has its old church where it gets its name and some pretty old traditional buildings; it offers a few hotels and apartments, there are also a variety of tavernas/restaurants and an assortment of bars. Esperies ( el, Εσπερίες) is a former municipality on the island of Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2019 local government reform it is part of the municipality North Corfu, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located in the northwest corner of the island of Corfu. It has a land area of and a population of 6,990 (2011 census). The seat of the municipality was the town of Velonades (pop. 392). Avliotes
Avliotes (Greek: Αυλιώτες) is a mountainous settlement lying at the northwest side of Corfu, Greece, 40 km from Corfu Town. It is a community of the municipal unit of Esperies, with a population of 1276 according to the census of 2011. It is set 120m above sea level, against a background of green hills. The narrow main street can be a challenge for unwary or first time visitors but worth exploring - for those of a nervous disposition there is an almost complete "bypass" - this summer (2014) there was just a small section that remained un-tarmaced - which allows onward travel to Sidari and places west. Othonoi
Othonoi ( el, Οθωνοί, also rendered as Othoni, grc, Ὀθρωνός , translit=Othrōnós) is a small and inhabited Greek island in the Ionian Sea, located northwest of Corfu, and is the westernmost point of Greece. Mathraki ( el, Μαθράκι, grc, Μαθράκιον) is an island and a former community of the Ionian Islands, Greece. It is one of the Diapontian Islands.
