Agia Paraskevi
Agia Paraskevi ( el, Αγία Παρασκευή, ''Agía Paraskeví'') is a suburb and a municipality in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. It is part of the North Athens regional unit. Agia Paraskevi was named after the main church of the town, which is dedicated to Saint Paraskevi of Rome. Geography Agia Paraskevi is situated near the northern edge of the forested Hymettus mountain range, northeast of Athens city center. The municipality has an area of 7.935 km2. The built-up area of Agia Paraskevi is continuous with those of the neighboring Cholargos, Chalandri and Gerakas. Besides the central area around the Agia Paraskevi Square, Agia Paraskevi consists of 7 districts: Kontopefko, Nea Zoi, Tsakos, Stavros, Aigiannis, Pefkakia and Paradeisos. Attica ( el, Περιφέρεια Αττικής, translit=Periféria Attikís, ) is an administrative region of Greece, that encompasses the entire metropolitan area of Athens, the country's capital and largest city. Motorway 6 ( el, Αυτοκινητόδρομος 6) or Attica Motorway or Attiki Odos (Greek: Αττική Οδός) is a privately owned toll motorway in Greece, part of the Attiki Odos system. Connecting Eleusis in the west with the Athens International Airport in the east, it forms the northern beltway of Athens. The length of the motorway is . Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. G.S. Agia Paraskevi ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Αγίας Παρασκευής) is a Greek basketball club based in Agia Paraskevi, Athens. It was founded in 1976 and is active in women basketball. The club had earlier long-time presence in A1 Ethniki women. The most successful season of the club was the season 1987-88 when it finished in 2nd place of the championship. The last season (2014–15) the club plays in the first local Attica division. History G.S Agia Paraskevi was founded in 1976 by the merge of former minor local clubs.
