Africa International Film Festival
The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Nigeria. It was founded in 2010 with its Inaugural edition in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. AFRIFF was founded by Chioma Ude a passionate film buff and entrepreneur, The event normally spans through a week and it includes award shows and film training classes. Keith Shiri, the founder/director of Africa at the Pictures is the artistic director of the festival. AFRIFF gives out honors in categories such Feature, Documentary, Short, Animation, and Students Short, as well as awards and prizes for Directing, Acting, and Screenplay. There are additional special awards for Audience Choice and an Outstanding Film Jury Award. Chioma Ude
Chioma Ude is a Nigerian entertainment executive. In 2010, she founded Africa International Film Festival, a film festival held annually in Nigeria. Career Ude founded AFRIFF in 2010, as a platform to train individuals in the film industry and then develop and monetize content for the public. At the Nigerian entertainment conference, she stated that the inability of indigenous filmmakers to adequately convey the language, story, and cultural elements of Nigerians into film was responsible for their non-selection at the Academy Awards. In October 2016, she spoke with the corporate world about AFRIFF in Lagos, explaining that the aim is to raise awareness of the benefits and potential of African cinema. Aramotu
''Aramotu'' is a 2010 Nigerian drama film directed by Niji Akanni. It stars Idiat Sobande, Kayode Odumosu and Gabriel Afolayan. It received 7 nominations at the 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards and won the awards for Best Nigerian Film and Best Costume Design. Plot Set in 1909, the film tells a story of a wealthy female trader, Aramotu ( Idiat Sobande) in an extremely culture-conscious yoruba community. Prof. Branwen Kiemute Okpako (born 25 February 1969), is a Nigerian–born Welsh German filmmaker. She is most notable as the director of critically acclaimed films ''The Education of Auma Obama'', ''Dirt for Dinner'' and ''Landing''.
