''Afraid of Heights'' is the fifth studio album by the Canadian rock band Billy Talent, released on July 29, 2016. It is the band's first album in four years following 2012's ''Dead Silence''. It is the first album recorded without drummer Aaron Solowoniuk who had suffered a multiple sclerosis relapse and had to take a hiatus from recording and performing to focus on his health. Jordan Hastings of Alexisonfire and Say Yes recorded the drums for the album and played on the supporting tour. The album sold approximately 53,000 units in its first week. Recording and release On January 5, 2016, the band posted a photo of a Condenser microphone on their Facebook page, with the caption "It begins", alluding to the beginning of the recording for the album. Billy Talent is a Canadian Rock music, rock band from Mississauga, Ontario. They formed in 1993 with lead vocalist Benjamin Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D'Sa, bassist Jonathan Gallant, and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk. Afraid Of Heights Tour
The Afraid of Heights Tour was a concert tour by Canadian rock band Billy Talent in support of their album, '' Afraid of Heights'', which was released on July 29, 2016. Drummer Aaron Solowoniuk did not be take part in the tour and had not taken part in the album, as Jordan Hastings of Alexisonfire replaced him only for the tour as the drummer. A special performance at the Rogers Centre in support of Guns N' Roses was also done as part of the tour on July 16, 2016. Alexisonfire made a special appearance on the February 27, 2017 show at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. They played after Billy Talent wrapped up their main set, playing three songs.
