AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open
The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open is a men's professional golf tournament, co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Sunshine Tour, as well as formerly being sanctioned by the Asian Tour. It began in 2015 and was played at Heritage Golf Club in Bel-Ombre, Mauritius. In 2016 and 2018 the tournament was held at Anahita Golf Club, returning to Heritage Golf Club in 2017 and in 2019. The 2015 and 2016 events were played in May but in 2017 it was moved to December and was part of the 2018 European Tour The 2018 European Tour is the 47th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 10th edition of the Race to Dubai. Grand-Baie
Grand Baie (or sometimes Grand Bay) is a coastal village in Mauritius located in the Rivière du Rempart District, but the western part also lies inside the Pamplemousses District. The village is administered by the Grand Baie Village Council under the aegis of the Rivière du Rempart District Council. According to the census performed by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 11,910. Wang Jeung-hun
Wang Jeung-hun or Wang Jung-hoon ( ko, 왕정훈; born 7 September 1995) is a South Korean professional golfer. He plays on the European and Asian Tours. He is from Seoul, South Korea. In 2016, he won the European Tour's Trophée Hassan II on a sponsor exemption. He made a birdie on the second extra hole of a sudden-death playoff to defeat Nacho Elvira. The following week, he won again at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, a co-sanctioned event on the European, Sunshine and Asian Tours. He claimed a one stroke victory over Siddikur Rahman. His third European Tour win came at the 2017 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters where he beat Joakim Lagergren and Jaco van Zyl in a playoff. 2016 European Tour
The 2016 European Tour was the eighth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 45th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The Race to Dubai was won for the second time by Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who was also named Golfer of the Year. The Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year was Wang Jeung-hun from South Korea. Rule changes For the 2016 season, the European Tour modified its membership requirements from 13 tournaments inclusive of the four majors and four World Golf Championships, to 5 tournaments exclusive of them; the change was intended to make it easier for United States-based players outside the top-50 in the world rankings to retain their membership, as they may not be eligible for the majors and WGCs. The 2016–17 Sunshine Tour was the 17th season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000, and the 10th since the tour switched a calendar based season in 2007. It marked a return to a multi-year schedule, the first since the 2006–07 Sunshine Tour season, and ended in March 2017. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. Matthieu Pavon
Matthieu Pavon (born 2 November 1992) is a French professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Personal life His father is former French professional footballer Michel Pavon. Professional career After turning professional Pavon played on the Alps Tour in 2014 and 2015. He won the Open International de Rebetz in 2014 and the Servizitalia Open in 2015. He reached the final stage of the 2015 European Tour Q School and gained a place on the Challenge Tour for 2016. Pavon didn't win on the 2016 Challenge Tour but he finished in second place three times: at the Turkish Airlines Challenge, Montecchia Golf Open and Foshan Open. He was joint third in the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final and finished sixth on the Road To Oman Rankings to earn his 2017 European Tour card. The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 11th edition of the Race to Dubai.
