Afakiriya Gadzama
Afakriya Aduwa Gadzama mni OFR (22 November 1953) is a Nigerian security officer who is the Chairman of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies. He previously served as Director General of the State Security Service (SSS) under President Umaru Yar'Adua from August 2007 to September 2010. Background and education Afakriya Aduwa Gadzama was born on 22 November 1953 at Lassa in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State Nigeria. National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Nigeria is a policy formation center for bureaucrats, private sector leaders, Army officers, and medium-rank and senior civil servants, which was founded in 1979. Ita Esien Ekpeyong mni (or Ekpenyong) is a Nigerian security officer who served as Director General of the State Security Service from September 2010 to July 2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan. Background Ekpeyong was born in Cross River State. He studied at the University of Calabar, obtaining a BA (Hons) in History in 1982, and then a Masters in Philosophy. He was the first director of the Institute of Security Studies in Abuja, a training school for Intelligence Officers. He then was appointed director of the Senior Staff Development Centre of the SSS in Bauchi. Ekpenyong held in turn the positions of SSS director in the states of Bauchi, Kwara, Lagos, Anambra and the Federal Capital Territory. Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (16 August 19515 May 2010) was a Nigerian politician who, was the President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. He was declared the winner of the Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007. He served previously as the governor of Katsina state from 1999 to 2007; and was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Federal Capital Territory, commonly known as the FCT, is a federal territory in central Nigeria. Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is located in this territory.
