Adán Amezcua
Adán Amezcua h-mess'-coo-ah/small> (born March 9, 1974) is a Mexican professional baseball player. Listed at 6' 3" (1.90 m), 198 lb. (90 k), he bats and throws right handed. Career Through the years, Amezcua has established himself as one of the most distinguished catchers in Mexican baseball history. Though he never has played in a Major League game, Amezcua has spent more than two decades in the minor leagues while playing in part or all of 21 seasons spanning 1993–2013. A fine handler of pitchers, he is known for his fine defense, as well for his ability to call a game and frame pitches to influence an umpire's strike zone. Besides, he has showed off a strong arm with fast release and accuracy backed up by a great instinct of the game. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. Portland Beavers
The Portland Beavers was the name of separate minor league baseball teams, which represented Portland, Oregon, in the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The team was established in 1903, the first year of the PCL. Francisco Campos
Francisco Machado Campos (born August 12, 1972) is a Mexican former professional baseball pitcher. He is a 15-time Mexican League All-Star and played with the Campeche Pirates for more than 20 seasons. He was born in Guaymas, Sonora. Career The top pitcher in the Mexican League in the early part of the 21st century, Francisco Campos was first signed by the Houston Astros in 1991 as a catcher. He only hit .147/~.275/.235 in 21 games for the GCL Astros. He missed the entire 1992 season with injuries and most of 1993. He moved to the Campeche Pirates in 1993 and batted .148/~.200/.174. Venados De Mazatlán
Venados de Mazatlán ( en, Mazatlán Deer) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican Pacific League based in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. In 2016, the team won the Mexican Pacific League Championship and went on to win their second Caribbean Series, which was played in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 2004–2005 season In the 2004–2005 season, the Venados of Mazatlán won the Mexican Pacific League title for the seventh time. In team sports, a most valuable player award, abbreviated 'MVP award', is an honor typically bestowed upon an individual (or individuals, in the instance of a tie) whose individual performance is the greatest in an entire league, for a particular competition, or on a specific team. A run batted in (RBI; plural RBIs ) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). Home Run
In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. Far less common is the "inside-the-park" home run where the batter reaches home safely while the baseball is in play on the field. The Mexican Pacific League (), known as Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico for sponsorship reasons or simply LMP for its acronym in Spanish, is a professional baseball winter league based in Northern Mexico. The ten-team regular season schedule runs from October to December and is followed by a playoff series in January to determine the league champion.
