Adrian Hernandez (born March 25, 1975) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers. Born in Cuba, Hernández defected to the United States in January 2000. Baseball career New York Yankees Hernandez was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent on June 2, , to a four-year, $4 million contract. He was instantly dubbed the nickname "El Duquecito" due to the similar pitching style of fellow Cuban Orlando Hernández. Hernández flew through the Yankees minor league organization in 2000 after going 8–2, with a 3.89 earned run average and 86 strikeouts in 12 games, all starts. Adrián Hernández (born January 10, 1986) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2015. He is a two-time world champion, having held the WBC light flyweight title twice between 2011 and 2014. Professional career On February 9, 2008, Hernández knocked out Rodel Mayol. In March 2008, Hernández knocked out former WBC Light Flyweight Champion Gilberto Keb Baas. Adrián Hernández Abenza (born 30 August 1981) is a Spanish football manager, currently in charge of Yeclano Deportivo. Career Born in Murcia, Hernández was never a footballer during his youths; he graduated in business administration and journalism, and also had a degree in business science with MBAs in marketing and pedagogy. He began his managerial career with EDMF Churra in 2014, with the club in the Primera Autonómica de Murcia; in his first years, he also shared his manager role with his work as a teacher. Adrián José Hernández Acosta (born 2 May 1983), known as Pollo, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Mogán, Las Palmas, Pollo played youth football with UD Las Palmas. His professional debut was made at neighbours UD Vecindario, with whom he spent two years in the Segunda División B. In 2005, Pollo signed for Atlético Madrid, spending two seasons with the reserves also in the third tier. On 6 January 2007 he played his first and only game in La Liga, coming on as a substitute for Luciano Galletti in the last minute of the home fixture against Gimnàstic de Tarragona (0–0).
