Adriana Jelinkova
Adriana Jelinkova (born as Jelínková, 10 April 1995 in Brno, Czech Republic) is an originally Dutch alpine ski racer since 2022/2023 representing Czech republic. Jelinkova specializes in the technical events of giant slalom and slalom. Jelinkova made her World Cup debut on 16 December 2012 and represented the Netherlands at WOG in Beijing in 2022. In May 2022, she changed her Nationality from the Netherlands to the Czech Republic. Career Jelinkova made her World Cup debut on 16 December 2012 in the Courchevel giant slalom, but she failed to finish the first run. She competed for the Netherlands at the 2013 Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming, Austria. She finished 40th in the giant slalom. She competed at the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek, United States. She did not start the first run of the slalom. Giant Slalom
Giant slalom (GS) is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline. It involves skiing between sets of poles ("gates") spaced at a greater distance from each other than in slalom but less than in Super-G. Giant slalom and slalom make up the technical events in alpine ski racing. This category separates them from the speed events of Super-G and downhill. The technical events are normally composed of two runs, held on different courses on the same ski run. Course The vertical drop for a GS course must be for men, and for women. The number of gates in this event is 56–70 for men and 46–58 for women. The number of direction changes in a GS course equals 11–15% of the vertical drop of the course in metres, 13–18% for children. Zürs
Zürs (1717 meters above sea level) is one of the most renowned winter sports resorts in the Alps. Located in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg, almost directly on the border to North Tyrol, near the Flexenpass, Zürs is part of the Arlberg region, which also includes Lech, Oberlech, Zug, and Stubenbach. Lenzerheide ( Romansh: ''Lai'') is a mountain resort in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn. The village lies in the municipality Vaz/Obervaz in the district of Albula, sub-district Alvaschein. The village lies in a broadened section of the valley between the cantonal capital Chur to the north and Tiefencastel, beyond which are the Julier Pass and St Moritz. The high valley forms a pass of no official name, often referred to as Lenzerheide pass, with a culmination point located 5 km north of the village. Alpine Skiing Combined
Combined is an event in alpine ski racing. A traditional combined competition consists of one run of downhill and two runs of slalom, each discipline runs on separate days. The winner is the skier with the fastest aggregate time. (Until the 1990s, a complicated point system was used to determine placings in the combined event.) A modified version, the super combined, is a speed race (downhill or super-G) and only one run of slalom, with both portions scheduled on the same day. History The first World Championships in 1931 did not include the combined event, but it was added to the program in 1932.
