Adriana Gaviria
Adriana Gaviria is an actor, producer, director, writer, and advocate in the United States. She is a founding member and artistic producer of The Sol Project, a national initiative to support Latinx theater, and the founder and producing artistic director for North Star Projects, an arts initiative that supports independent artists and theaters. Her advocacy also includes leadership roles with the Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL). Early life and education Adriana Gaviria was born in New York City and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Florida International University (FIU) and pursued her acting career at the Yale School of Drama. She received a BFA from FIU and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama. Gaviria is a former recipient of the Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC)/ Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Artistic Leaders Fellowship. Alabama Shakespeare Festival
The Alabama Shakespeare Festival (ASF) is among the ten largest Shakespeare festivals in the world. The festival is permanently housed in the Carolyn Blount Theatre in Montgomery, Alabama. ''Shakespeare Bulletin'' is an academic journal founded in 1982. The journal focuses exclusively on performance studies and scholarly treatment of Shakespearean and early modern drama on stage and screen. The ''San Francisco Chronicle'' is a newspaper serving primarily the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. Latinx Theatre Commons
The Latinx Theatre Commons (LTC) is a national movement launched in 2012, which promotes Latino equity in American theater through convening, scholarship, advocacy, and art. The goals, activities, and methods of its actions are determined, championed, and carried out by the LTC's volunteer, self-organized steering committee of predominantly U.S.-based theater-makers and scholars of Latina/o/x theater, working together and with community partners around the country. The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) is a San Antonio, Texas-based, non-profit organization dedicated to Latin American art, Latino art and culture. Jacob Padrón
Jacob Padrón is the Artistic Director of Long Wharf Theatre. He is also the Artistic Director of The Sol Project and a co-founder of the Artists' Anti-Racism Coalition.
