Adrian Phillips
Adrian Phillips (born March 28, 1992) is an American football Safety (gridiron football position), safety for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas Longhorns football, Texas and joined the History of the San Diego Chargers, San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2014. During the 2018 season, he earned Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors. Phillips joined the Patriots in 2020. Early years Phillips played high school football at Garland High School in Garland, Texas. Phillips was an all-state, all-area and two-time first-team all-district selection while playing offense and defense for the Owls. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two Halfback (Canadian football), defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. Darrell Stuckey
Darrell Stuckey, Jr. (born June 16, 1987) is a former American football safety. He played college football at the University of Kansas. Stuckey was an All-Big 12 First-team selection in 2008 and was considered one of the top safeties available in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. High school Stuckey attended Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas. College career In his sophomore season in 2007, Stuckey started all 13 games at safety and was fourth on the team in tackles with 72. Dexter McCoil Sr. (born September 5, 1991) is a gridiron football coach and former safety, who is the current safeties coach for the Texas State Bobcats. He played college football at Tulsa. McCoil played professionally for the Los Angeles Kiss, Edmonton Eskimos, Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, Calgary Stampeders, St. Louis BattleHawks and Toronto Argonauts.
