Adria Downs
Adria Downs Station is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in the outback of Queensland. It is situated approximately west of Birdsville bordering the Simpson Desert National Park. The Georgina River flows through the property in channels that are approximately deep but spread out on floodplains over wide. The river eventually runs into Lake Muncooney which is also situated within the lease. The property occupies an area of and the current owner is David Brook and the current manager is Don Rayment. In 2012 the property was running 16,000 head of organic cattle. The property was established in 1912 and in 1916 was owned by Macdonald and Alexander and managed by Clarence Miller. Annandale Station most commonly known as Annandale is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in central west Queensland. It is located on the tribal lands of the Wongkamala. The property is located west Birdsville and south of Boulia in the Channel Country of Queensland. History The station was the first established in the area when Patrick Drinan took up the run in July 1876. Other properties were settled soon afterwards including Kaliduwarry and Glengyle Stations. The station was named after his family's estate, ''Annandale'', in Gladstone. Drinan sold the property to the Collins brothers the following year. Cordillo Downs
Cordillo Downs or Cordillo Downs Station is both a pastoral lease currently operating as a cattle station and a formal bounded locality in South Australia. It is located about north of Innamincka and south east of Birdsville. The name and boundaries of the locality were created on 26 April 2013 for the long established local name. The station once occupied an area of and was regarded as Australia's largest sheep station (in the 1880s, Cordillo set a record of shearing over 85,000 sheep in a season). One of the best known features of the station is the heritage-listed woolshed that is constructed of stone with a curved tin roof, built this way due to a lack of timber in the area. Sir Sidney Kidman (9 May 18572 September 1935), known as Sid Kidman and popularly named "the Cattle King", was an Australian pastoral farming, pastoralist and entrepreneur who owned or co-owned large areas of land in Australia in his lifetime. Early life Sidney Kidman was born on 9 May 1857 in Adelaide, in the colony of South Australia, the third son of George Kidman (died December 1857), farmer, and his wife Elizabeth Mary, née Nunn. Georgina River
The Georgina River is the north-westernmost of the three major rivers of the Channel Country in Central West Queensland, that also flows through a portion of the Northern Territory, in central Australia. Part of the Lake Eyre basin, the Georgina flows in extremely wet years into Lake Eyre. The river is named in honour of Georgina Mildred Kennedy, the daughter of Queensland governor Arthur Kennedy. The river was originally called the Herbert River before being given its current name in 1890 to avoid confusion with the other river in Queensland that bears that name.
