Adolf Dobrovolný
Adolf Dobrovolný (8 May 1864 – 17 January 1934) was a Czech actor and a radio announcer, the first regular radio news reporter in Czechoslovakia. Early life and theatre career Dobrovolný was born in Postoloprty, a small town on the Czech–German language border in Bohemia, then part of the Austrian Empire. His father was a watchmaker, and Adolf was taught the craft which he also practised for several years.:cs:Ottův divadelní slovník, Ottův divadelní slovník, ed. Karel Kamínek, Karel Engelmüller, 1914–1919 At the age of 19 he joined an itinerant theater, and in 1897 he started to act in Švanda Theatre, Smíchov, Prague. Lucerna Music Bar is a concert club in Prague, Czech Republic. It is housed within Lucerna Palace. Lucerna Music Bar is one of the stages used in the Prague International Jazz Festival and the AghaRTA Prague Jazz Festival. It was used for the Václav Havel Tribute Concert. The venue, opened in 1995, has played an important role in giving exposure to many Czech bands. Today, it holds discos on Friday and Saturday nights, and during the week, it mainly hosts live music. Czech Radio
Český rozhlas (ČRo) is the public radio broadcaster of the Czech Republic operating since 1923. It is the oldest radio broadcaster in continental Europe and the second oldest in Europe after the BBC. The service broadcasts throughout the Czech Republic nationally and locally. Its four national services are Radiožurnál, Dvojka, Vltava and Plus.
