Adi (mythology)
Āḍi ( sa, आडि) is an Asura in Hindu mythology who appears in the Matsya Purāṇa. He was the son of the demon Andhaka, who was killed by the god Shiva. Story After discovering that Pārvatī was practicing tapasya in the forest, he recalled his father's death at the hands of Shiva. He decided to avenge his father by killing Shiva, despite knowing that he was no match for the deity. At the time of his father's death, Āḍi did tapasya to please Brahmā who appeared before him asking what he desired. Āḍi replied that he sought immortality, to which Brahmā made clear that all living beings must eventually die. Āḍi clarified his request, stating that he would only die when he had changed form. Brahmā took advantage of this ambiguity and granted him the power of transformation. Āḍi was prepared to face Shiva. Founded in 2000, ADI's goal is to improve the health of people in remote and rural areas of Papua New Guinea. Rishabhanatha
Rishabhanatha, also ( sa, ऋषभदेव), Rishabhadeva, or Ikshvaku is the first (Supreme preacher) of Jainism and establisher of Ikshvaku dynasty. He was the first of twenty-four teachers in the present half-cycle of time in Jain cosmology, and called a "ford maker" because his teachings helped one across the sea of interminable rebirths and deaths. Water Injection (engine)
In internal combustion engines, water injection, also known as anti-detonant injection (ADI), can spray water into the incoming air or fuel-air mixture, or directly into the combustion chamber to cool certain parts of the induction system where "hot points" could produce premature ignition. In jet engines it increases engine thrust at low speeds and at takeoff. Water injection was used historically to increase the power output of military aviation engines for short durations, such as dogfights or takeoff. However it has also been used in motor sports and notably in drag racing. In Otto cycle engines, the cooling effects of water injection also enables greater compression ratios by reducing engine knocking (detonation).
