Adeje
Adeje is a town and municipality in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. The town Adeje is located 4 km from the coast, 8 km north of the resort town Los Cristianos, 60 km southwest of the island capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife and about 17 km northwest of Tenerife South Airport. Adeje is the western terminus of the TF-1 motorway, which connects it with the south and east coast of the island. The Barranco del Infierno gorge is located in the municipality. Its economy is based on business, tourism and agriculture. Adeje is also home to the large water park Siam Park, which is considered the best water park in the world. Adeje is an important tourist center both on the island and nationally and internationally. The TF-1 (or ''Autopista del Sur'', "Southern Motorway") is a motorway encircling the eastern and the southern parts of the island of Tenerife ( Canary Islands). The TF-1 motorway runs from the capital Santa Cruz in the north to Adeje with its major tourist resorts Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas in the south of the island, and continues to Santiago del Teide in the west. Siam Park (Tenerife)
Siam Park is a water park in Costa Adeje, a coastal suburb in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Siam Park features a Siamese (Thai) theme. The park was opened by the Princess of Thailand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The principal owners are Wolfgang Kiessling and his son Christoph. A second park is planned for the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria. History Siam Park's construction started in 2004 and cost 52 million euros (US$58.7 million). Barranco Del Infierno (Tenerife)
The Barranco del Infierno (in English: "Hell's Gorge") is a ravine located in the town of Adeje in the south of the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Guanches
The Guanches were the indigenous inhabitants of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean some west of Africa. It is believed that they may have arrived on the archipelago some time in the first millennium BCE. The Guanches were the only native people known to have lived in the Macaronesian archipelago region before the arrival of Europeans, as there is no accepted evidence that the other Macaronesian archipelagos (the Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and the Azores) were inhabited.
