Adam Szymczyk
Adam Szymczyk (Polish pronunciation: ; born in 1970 in Piotrków Trybunalski), is a Polish art critic and curator, writer and editor. He lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. Between 2003–2014, he was the director and chief curator at Kunsthalle Basel. Between 2013 and 2017, he was the artistic director at documenta 14. He is curator at large at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. In 2016, he was ranked second on the list of the most influential people in the contemporary art world compiled by the ''ArtReview'' magazine. Biography He was born in 1970 in Piotrków Trybunalski in central Poland and moved to Łódź at the age of four. He frequently visited the Museum of Art in Łódź and became interested in art. Piotrków Trybunalski
Piotrków Trybunalski (; also known by #Etymology, alternative names), often simplified to Piotrków, is a city in central Poland with 71,252 inhabitants (2021). It is the second-largest city situated in the Łódź Voivodeship. Previously, it was the capital of an independent Piotrków Voivodeship (1975–1998); it is now the capital of Piotrków County. Founded in the late Middle Ages, Piotrków was once a Royal city in Poland, royal city and an important place in Polish history; the first Sejm of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, parliament sitting was held here in the 15th century. Joanna Mytkowska
Joanna Mytkowska (1970) is a Polish curator and art critic. She has been the director of the Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw since 2007. She is the co-founder of the Foksal Gallery Foundation, which since 2001 has been operating independently from the Foksal Gallery. Life and work Joanna Mytkowska studied at the University of Warsaw from 1988 to 1994. She was the curator of the Artur Żmijewski exhibition at the Polish Pavilion during the 51st Venice Biennale (2005). Sung Hwan Kim
Sung Hwan Kim (born 1975 in Seoul, South Korea) is a contemporary artist who grew up in South Korea and is currently based in New York. He also worked in the Netherlands for four years serving as a fellow at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten. Mandla is a city with municipality in Mandla district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Mandla District. The city is situated in a loop of the Narmada River, which surrounds it on three sides, and for 15 miles between Mandla and Ramnagar, Madhya Pradesh the river flows in a deep bed unbroken by rocks. David Harding (artist)
David Harding, (b 1937) is a Scottish artist best known for his residency as a town artist in Glenrothes and as Head of Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art. He was born in Leith, Scotland. Education From 1955-1959 Harding attended Edinburgh College of Art, where he studied the sculptural use of glass, concrete and ceramics. He attended Moray House College of Education in 1960. Career From 1961-1963 he taught in various schools in Scotland before moving to Nigeria (1963 - 1967) to work in the art department in a bush teacher training college. He returned from Nigeria at the age of 30 and decided to give up teaching, instead undertaking sculpture commissions. Having spent a year as a self employed artist, Harding answered an advert in The Scotsman newspaper for a post with Glenrothes Development Corporation. Ross Birrell
Ross Lindsay Birrell (17 December 1948 - 16 March 2015) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Biography Born in 1948, Birrell started out as rugby union player and toured overseas with the Emerging Wallabies team, before making the switch to rugby league. Birrell was a member of South Sydney's first-grade team from 1972 to 1975, playing as a centre, fullback and winger. Occasionally he served as the team's goalkicker and amassed 17-points in a win over Balmain in 1972. During his time at South Sydney he also had a stint in England with Hull Kingston Rovers. In 1976 he left South Sydney to coach the Wagga Magpies. Birrell died from cancer in 2015, at the age of 66.
