Adam McMullen
Adam McMullen (June 12, 1872 – March 2, 1959) was an American Republican politician and was the 21st Governor of Nebraska. McMullen was born in Wellsville, New York and as a young boy moved with his family to Wymore, Nebraska. He was a founding member of the Beta Tau chapter of Delta Tau Delta fraternity at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1894. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1896, and matriculated at George Washington University, where he earned a law degree in 1899. He was married to Cora Greenwood. Career Still in Washington, D. C. after his graduation in 1899, McMullen worked as a secretary for Nebraska Congressman Jesse Strode, then for Senator Charles Henry Dietrich. He returned to Wymore, Nebraska where he passed the state bar and entered into private practice. Beatrice () is a city in and the county seat of Gage County, Nebraska, United States. Its population was 12,459 at the 2010 census. Charles Henry Dietrich
Charles Henry Dietrich (November 26, 1853April 10, 1924) was the 11th Governor of Nebraska. Dietrich in mercantile pursuits and in banking. After serving as governor, he was elected U.S. Senator from May 1, 1901 to March 3, 1905. Personal life He was born in Aurora, Illinois, and was of German ancestry. His education was attained in the public schools of his native state and he quit at the age of twelve. Dietrich was married twice. His first wife, Elizabeth Slaker, died in 1887. After Elizabeth's death, he married Margretta Stewart in on October 27, 1909. Deitrich and Margretta lived in Hastings, Nebraska. Jesse Strode
Jesse Burr Strode (February 18, 1845 – November 10, 1924) was an American Republican Party politician. He was born in Fulton County, Illinois on February 18, 1845, and graduated from Abingdon College in Abingdon, Illinois (which was later consolidated with Eureka College). During the American Civil War he enlisted in Company G, Fiftieth Regiment, of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry serving from September 10, 1861, to the end of the war. He returned to Abingdon first becoming principal of the schools from 1865 to 1873, being elected councilman six times and mayor twice. He moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska and studied law passing the bar in and set up practice there in 1879. He was a district attorney from 1882 to 1888, moving to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1887.
