Acura CDX
The Acura CDX is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by Acura, a luxury vehicle division of Honda, for the Chinese market. The CDX was manufactured by Guangqi Honda. The car made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2016. The CDX was produced at the Zengcheng Plant in Guangzhou, China and was available from July 2016 until April 2022, when Acura announced its departure from Chinese market. Upon release, the CDX was planned as a Chinese domestic model, as Acura announcing it has no plans to launch in North America. According to Jon Ikeda, group vice president of Acura USA, Acura had considered selling the CDX in the United States, though that ultimately never happened. In 2020, an A-Spec variant of the CDX was released, featuring more aggressive styling, blacked-out plastic trim, two-tone mirrors, and unique 18-inch wheels. Jon Ikeda (born July 31, 1965) is an American automobile designer and executive. He currently serves as vice president and brand officer of Acura, the luxury and performance division of Honda, Honda Motor Company. Early life and education Ikeda, a Japanese Americans, Japanese American, grew up in Glendale, California, Glendale and Pasadena, California. In 1989, he graduated from the ArtCenter College of Design, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, with a Bachelor of Science in industrial design. Twist-beam Rear Suspension
The twist-beam rear suspension (also torsion-beam axle, deformable torsion beam or compound crank) is a type of automobile suspension based on a large H or C-shaped member. The front of the H attaches to the body via rubber bushings, and the rear of the H carries each stub-axle assembly, on each side of the car. The cross beam of the H holds the two trailing arms together, and provides the roll stiffness of the suspension, by twisting as the two trailing arms move vertically, relative to each other. Functioning The coil springs usually bear on a pad alongside the stub-axle. Often the shock is colinear with the spring forming a coil-over. In many cases the damper is also used as a restraint strap to stop the arm descending so far that the coil spring falls out through being completely unloaded.
