Achor, Ohio
Achor is an unincorporated community in Middleton Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. It lies a few miles south of the community of Negley and just west of the state border with Pennsylvania. Once a leading settlement in the eastern portion of the county, it is now virtually a ghost town. Negley is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Middleton Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 274 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Salem micropolitan area, south of Youngstown. Historically a mining community, Negley lies at the confluence of Bull Creek and the North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek along State Routes 154 and 170 at the state border with Pennsylvania. It is located on the Youngstown and Southeastern Railroad, and was formerly home to the only Youngstown and Southern Railroad shop. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.
