Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and, as with on the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986 and was initially called the ''Satellite Tour''. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour. Up to 1993 the Challenge Tour rankings were based on each player's best several results, but since 1994 it has been a straightforward money list, with all results counting. Stroke Play
Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds. Although most professional tournaments are played using the stroke play scoring system, some notable exceptions exist. In match play, the player, or team, earns a point for each hole in which they have bested their opponents. Espen Kofstad
Espen Kofstad (born 11 August 1987) is a Norwegian professional golfer who currently plays on the Challenge Tour. Kofstad was born in Oslo and was educated at Perbraten School. After finishing at the University of Denver, he entered the first stage of the European Tour qualifying school in 2010. At the final stage, he missed qualification for the European Tour by one stroke. He then joined the Challenge Tour in 2011 and finished in 35th on the Tour's Order of Merit in his rookie season. He picked up his first victory in 2012 at the Double Tree by Hilton Acaya Open. He plays for Losby Golf and Country Club. He finished 43rd at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio De Janeiro for Norway. In 2022, he played in his first PGA Tour Event in the Barbasol Championship, shooting a final round 67 to tie for 16th place. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Jamie Moul
Jamie Moul (born 26 September 1984) is an English professional golfer who became the third man to top the World Amateur Golf Ranking on 13 February 2007. Moul plays out of Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Club near Colchester in Essex. His tournament wins include the 2006 Lytham Trophy, and the 2007 Brabazon Trophy (jointly with Romain Bechu). Moul played on the Great Britain and Ireland team in the 2007 Walker Cup. He played in all four rounds. On the Saturday, he halved the foursomes with his partner Daniel Willett, and won his singles by 1 hole against opponent, Chris Kirk. On Sunday, Moul lost twice, again playing with Daniel Willett in the morning foursomes, and losing to Jamie Lovemark in the afternoon singles. Jorge Campillo (golfer)
Jorge Campillo (born 1 June 1986) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He has won on the tour, the 2019 Trophée Hassan II and the 2020 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Amateur career After attending the Spanish national training centre as a junior, Campillo elected to play college golf at Indiana University in the United States. Campillo would go on to become one of the most successful players in the university's history, winning nine intercollegiate titles and being named to the Golfweek First Team All-American squad. He finished second in the 2008 NCAA championship. He also played in the Palmer Cup for Europe in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Professional career Campillo turned professional on graduating in 2009 and began playing on invites to the European and Challenge Tours.
