Malayalam Literature
Malayalam, the lingua franca of the Indian state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puduchery, is one of the six Classical languages of India. Malayalam literature comprises those literary texts written in Malayalam, a South-Dravidian language spoken in the Indian state of Kerala. Satheesh Babu Payyannur
Satheesh Babu Payyannur (13 August 1963 – 24 November 2022) was a Malayalam–language short story writer and novelist from Kerala, India. His works include the novels ''Mannu, Daivappura, Manja Sooryante Naalukal'' and ''Kudamanikal Kilungiya Raavil'', and the short story collections ''Peramaram'', ''Vrishchikam Vannu Vilichu'' and ''Mazhayilundaya Makal''. His oeuvre consists of 12 novels and around 200 short stories. The collection ''Peramaram'' won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Story in 2012. Ezhacherry Ramachandran (born 1944) is a Malayalam poet, lyricist and journalist. He has penned lyrics for several Malayalam movies and albums. In 2020, he won the Vayalar Award. ''Deshabhimani'' is a Malayalam newspaper and the organ of the Kerala State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). It started as a weekly in Calicut on 6 September 1942 and converted to a daily in 1946. Lonappan Nambadan
Lonappan Nambadan (13 November 1935 – 5 June 2013) was an Indian politician from Kerala. He was member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly for six terms from 1977 - 2001 and was a state minister in two E. K. Nayanar ministries. He was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Mukundapuram constituency of Kerala and was a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) political party. Susmesh Chandroth (born April 1, 1977) is an Indian writer, who writes in Malayalam. He won the first Yuva Puraskar for Malayalam in 2011 instituted by the Sahitya Akademi, Government of India. Kanayi Kunhiraman ( ml, കാനായി കുഞ്ഞിരാമന്; born 25 July 1937) is an Indian sculptor, best known for his outsize sculptures such as ''Yakshi'' of Malampuzha Dam Gardens, '' Sagarakanyaka'' at Shankumugham Beach and ''Mukkola Perumal'' trinity in Kochi. Subhash Chandran (born 1972) born in Kerala, India, is a Malayalam novelist, short story writer and journalist best known for the 2010 novel '' Manushyanu Oru Aamukham''.
