Abruzzo (, , ; nap, label=Neapolitan language, Abruzzese Neapolitan, Abbrùzze , ''Abbrìzze'' or ''Abbrèzze'' ; nap, label=Sabino dialect, Aquilano, Abbrùzzu; #History, historically Abruzzi) is a Regions of Italy, region of Southern Italy with an area of 10,763 square km (4,156 sq mi) and a population of 1.3 million. David Abruzzese
David John Abruzzese (; born 8 October 1969) is a Welsh former professional footballer. He represented Wales at youth level. Abruzzese, a full-back, joined Newport County in 1986, playing 25 times in Newport's final two seasons in the Football League. In 1988, after County's second successive relegation and the club in financial ruin, he joined Torquay United, but left to join Merthyr Tydfil without making the Torquay first team. He subsequently moved to Barry Town and in the 2001–02 and 2004–05 seasons was playing for ENTO Aberaman. He was appointed as manager in June 2004 but left the role in 2005. He later played for Penrhiwceiber Rangers and Osborne Athletic. Giusepe Abruzzese (born 17 May 1981) is a former Italian footballer who played as a defender for Audace Cerignola. Biography Andria Born in Andria, the Province of Bari, Abruzzese started his career at hometown club Fidelis Andria. Abruzzese made his professional debut on 17 January 1999, started the match against Torino, which the team lost 0–2 in the away match of Serie B. The team relegated at the end of season, and Abruzzese was loaned from Serie C1 to Serie C2 side Tricase. Ray Abruzzese
Raymond Lewis Abruzzese Jr. (October 27, 1937 – August 22, 2011) was an American college and professional football player. Abruzzese was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A defensive back, he played college football at the University of Alabama, and played professionally in the American Football League for the Buffalo Bills from 1962 through 1964, when the Bills won the AFL Championship game, 20–7, over the defending AFL champion San Diego Chargers. He also played for the AFL's New York Jets in 1965 and 1966. Abruzzese died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, aged 73. Nick Abruzzese
Nicholas Abruzzese (born June 4, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey center currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). Growing up in New York, Abruzzese played for numerous junior hockey teams before joining the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2017 to 2019. During his time with the Steel, Abruzzese thrived under new coach Greg Moore and led the league in scoring with 80 points in 69 games. As such, he was named to the 2018–19 All-USHL First Team and was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Following the draft, Abruzzese joined the Harvard Crimson men's ice hockey team from 2020 to 2022 while majoring in psychology. His freshman season was the best under coach Ted Donato as Abruzzese accumulated 14 goals and 30 assists for 44 points through 31 games.
