Abrera
Abrera () is a municipalities of Spain, municipality in the Comarques of Catalonia, ''comarca'' of the Baix Llobregat in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Llobregat river, to the south-east of Montserrat (mountain), Montserrat, on the main A2 road between Barcelona and Lleida. The municipality is served by the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, FGC railway line from Martorell to Manresa: the S4 and R5 services stop at the station. Abrera is home to The Seat Sport, SEAT Sport factory. Demography According to Spanish census data, this is the population of Abrera in recent years. Baix Llobregat () is a comarca (county) on the coast of Catalonia, Spain. Its capital is Sant Feliu de Llobregat. Municipalities Proposed changes It has long been proposed to split the northern part of Baix Llobregat into a separate comarca. The Catalan government's "Report on the revision of Catalonia's territorial organisation model" (the ), published in 2000, recommends many changes to comarcas, including the creation of , with its capital at Martorell, taking in several more municipalities from Alt Penedès, Anoia, Bages, and Vallès Occidental. Recent campaigns have referred to the proposed new comarca as "Montserratí", due to the landmark Montserrat mountain marking part of its eastern border. Martorell
Martorell () is a municipality that forms part of the Baix Llobregat Comarques of Catalonia, comarca, in Catalonia, Spain, primarily known for its medieval Pont del Diable, Devil's bridge. It lies at the confluence of the Llobregat and Anoia River, Anoia rivers. It has three railway stations - one on the Renfe line from Manresa to Sant Vicenç de Calders (via Barcelona and Vilafranca del Penedès) called "Martorell", and three on the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, FGC line from Barcelona to Manresa called "Martorell-Vila", "Martorell-Enllaç" and "Martorell-Central". Els Hostalets de Pierola is a Spanish municipality situated in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, province of Barcelona, Spain. The municipality includes the villages of Els Hostalets de Pierola, els Boscos de Can Martí, Can Fontimarc, Can Fonsalba, Can Gras, Can Marcet, Can Rovira de l'Estela, Pierola and Serra Alta. History The castle of Pierola, of which nothing remains, was cited in documents in 963. It belonged to the vicecounty of Barcelona from the tenth to the thirteenth century. In 1286 it was given by Alfonso II of Aragon to Asbert of Mediona. In 1698 Pau Ignasi of Dalmases bought the barony of Pierola.
