Abja-Paluoja
Abja-Paluoja is a town in Mulgi Parish, Viljandi County, in southern Estonia. Before 2017, it was the administrative centre of Abja Parish. Abja-Paluoja was first mentioned in 1505. Abja-Paluoja gained town rights in 1993 and became a sovereign municipality but in 1998 it was merged into surrounding rural municipality Abja Parish. Since 1940, the Abja Gymnasium has offered secondary education. The kindergarten in Abja-Paluoja was founded in 1912. Abja Parish
Abja Parish ( et, Abja vald) was a rural municipality of Estonia, in Viljandi County. In 2009, it had a population of 2,719 (as of 1 January 2009) and an area of . After the municipal elections held on 15 October 2017, Abja Parish was merged with Halliste and Karksi parishes and the town of Mõisaküla to form a new Mulgi Parish. Mulgi Parish ( et, Mulgi vald) is a rural municipality in southern Estonia. It is a part of Viljandi County. As of 2021, the municipality has a population of 7,372, and covers . It is one of the southernmost municipalities of both Vilandji and Estonia, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of the Latvian border. Karl August Hindrey
Karl August Hindrey (15 August 1875 Abja Manor, Viljandi County – 9 January 1947) was an Estonian writer, journalist and cartoonist. He is mostly known through his psychological short stories and historical novels. He is also considered to be the founder of Estonian comics. From 1904, he worked in the editorial offices of the newspapers ''Postimees'' and ''Päevaleht''. He used the pseudonym Hoia Ronk, when he made contributions to the two newspapers mentioned above. He established two satirical magazines: ''Sädemed'' and ''Kratt''. During the Second World War, his activities were anti-Soviet. He was also one of the Forest Brothers. He died in 1947. Riho Västrik (born August 4, 1965) is an Estonian filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, journalist, and historian. Biography Between 1988 and 2000, Västrik studied at the University of Tartu, where he received his bachelor's degree in history and journalism. He earned his master's degree in Film Arts at the Baltic Film and Media School in Tallinn, where he has worked as an associate professor in film since 2009. From 1987 to 1990, Västrik was an actor in Tallinn's VAT Theater and, from 1990 to 1993, he worked on the editorial board of Estonian Radio. Kaimo Kuusk (born 5 December 1975), is an Estonian diplomat and foreign intelligence officer. Since 11 July 2019, he has been the Estonian ambassador to Ukraine.
