Abitha
Abitha is an Indian film and television actress who appears in Tamil cinema, Tamil language films and teleserials. She appeared in notable productions including Sethu (film), ''Sethu'' alongside Vikram (actor), Vikram. She is famous for her role as Archana in the teleserial ''Thirumathi Selvam'', which aired from 2007 to 2013 in Sun TV starring opposite Sanjeev (Tamil actor, born 1975), Sanjeev. She was the winner of Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal for Best Actress twice by Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal for ''Thirumathi Selvam'' in the years 2010 and 2012. Sethu (film)
''Sethu'' is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, written and directed by Bala. The film stars Vikram and Abitha in lead roles. The score and soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was initially released in a single suburban theatre in October 1999, but was released later on 10 December 1999 in theatres across Tamil Nadu. It became Vikram's first major breakthrough film. ''Sethu'' won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil, and the Best Film category at the Filmfare Awards and the Cinema Express Awards. ''Thirumathi Selvam'' (Mrs. Selvam) is a 2007 Tamil television soap opera directed by S. Kumaran and produced by Radhika Srinivasan & B. Srinivasan for Vikatan Televistas. It Stars Sanjeev and Abitha in the lead roles with Rindhya, Gautami and Vadivukkarasi played supporting roles. It premiered on 5 November 2007 and initially aired weekday afternoons on Sun TV, before being moved to prime time on 17 November 2008. The serial ended on 22 March 2013 with 1360 episodes. ''Seerivarum Kaalai'' () is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by Ramarajan. The film stars himself alongside Abitha of Sethu fame. The Sun Kudumbam Awards is an awards ceremony held to honour the cast and crew of the television serials which air on Sun TV, presented by Sun Network. This is the first time in the Tamil Television industry where awards are given for performances in Television serials. The first awards ceremony happened in 2010 and it is a biennial award ceremony.
