The program's stars were Iftikhar Thakur, Sardar Kamal, Naseem Vicky, Abid Kashmiri, Waseem Abbas, Humaira Ali and Qavi Khan. The show was written by Waseem Abbas, who also acted in it. The honors are awarded by Nigar Magazine founded in 1948. The Nigar Awards are Pakistan's version of the Academy Awards. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists.
