Aberfoyle Park, South Australia
Aberfoyle Park is a suburb in the City of Onkaparinga in the state of South Australia. It is located in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, approximately 20 km from the city centre. Aberfoyle Park has a shopping mall called "The Hub", several primary schools and a public high school, one of the biggest in the state. Aberfoyle Park is served by the Adelaide Metro bus routes G20, G21 and G22, which connect the suburb to Adelaide's city centre. History In 1845, Christian Sauerbier, from Germany, purchased land south of Adelaide, near Happy Valley. In 1856, Sauerbier owned eleven sections of land in the area. The area became agricultural and the Sauerbier family was renowned for the quality of their stud stock and the orange grove that was attached to their property. The Happy Valley Football Club is an Australian rules football club that competes in the Southern Football League. History The club first formed in 1952 playing in the former Hills Central Football League. In 1964, Happy Valley transferred to the Glenelg-South-West District Football Association and adopted the colours Black and Gold to avoid a clash with the Glandore club (having previously worn Blue and Gold). In 1980, Happy Valley joined the Southern Football League Division 2 competition and in 1984 were promoted to Division 1. The Australian HPV Super Series is an annual championship held in South Australia and Western Australia featuring velomobiles racing around enclosed circuits for a period between 6 and 24 hours. The largest event of its kind anywhere in the world, it attracts teams from all around Australia, and even overseas. Amanda Rishworth
Amanda Louise Rishworth (born 10 July 1978) is an Australian politician who has served as the Australian Labor Party member for the House of Representatives seat of Kingston in South Australia since the 2007 election.
