Abel Schrøder
Abel Schrøder, also Abel Schrøder the Younger, (c. 1602–1676) was a Danish woodcarver with a workshop in Næstved, then the centre for woodcarving in Southern Zealand. He is remembered for his many auricular altarpieces and pulpits depicting scenes from the life of Christ. Schrøder was also the organist for 42 years in St Martin's Church, Næstved. Biography Under the sponsorship of Frederik Reedz, a ''lensmand'' or royal vassal, most of Schrøder's work was for churches in the region of Vordingborg. He created the pulpit in Undløse Church, the parish church for Reedz' manor Tygestrup, now known as Kongsdal, and probably also that in the neighbouring church of Søndersted. A stone epitaph in St Peter's Church, Næstved, provides a brief account of Schrøder's life: "Sculptor and organist in St Martin's Church for 42 years, husband of his dear wife Mette Petersdatter for 47 years with whom he was the father of nine children..." Tybjerg Church
Tybjerg Church () is a Church of Denmark parish church situated on a small hill in the village of Tybjerg, just east of Tybjerggaard, Næstved Municipality, Denmark. History The church was constructed around 1175. It is the namesake of the local , whose seal features an image of Our Lady, indicating that the church was most likely dedicated to her. The church belonged to the bishops of Roskilde but was administrated from Skovkloster Abbey in Næstved, a situation which caused local dissatisfaction. The church was confiscated by the Crown in connection with the Reformation. On 31 December 1678, the Tybjerg and Aversi churches were transgerred to Tybjerggaard, which was given to . The church was annexed to the nearby Herlufmagle Church in 1681. The church gained its independence on 1 April 1917. Lorentz Jørgensen
Lorentz Jørgensen (before 1644 – after 1681) was a Danish woodcarver. He was possibly trained by Hans Gudewerdt in Eckernförde. The two may well have worked together in 1643 on the altar screen for the north chapel in Halsted Priory Church on Lolland. His career then became intricately related to that of Christoffer Knudsen Urne (1594–1663) who was appointed lensman (vassal) at Tranekær on Langeland in 1642. Church Of Holmen
The Holmen Church ( da, Holmens Kirke) is a Parish church in central Copenhagen in Denmark, on the street called Holmens Kanal. First built as an anchor forge in 1563, it was converted into a naval church by Christian IV. It is famous for having hosted the wedding between Margrethe II of Denmark, current queen of Denmark, and Prince Henrik in 1967. It is the burial site of such notabilities as naval heroes Niels Juel and Peter Tordenskjold, and composer Niels Wilhelm Gade, and contains artwork by, among others, Bertel Thorvaldsen and Karel van Mander.
