Abdul Rehman (Pakistani Cricketer)
Abdul Rehman ( ur, ; born 1970) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer, currently serving as the head coach of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cricket team. He served as the interim coach of the Pakistan cricket team for a series against Afghanistan. Early life and education Abdul Rehman was born in 1970 in Quetta, Baluchistan. He holds a master's degree in international relations. Career As a cricketer, Abdul Rehman represented Pakistan in a cricket match against Sri Lanka A in 1989 and against Australian Academy in 1995–96. Abdul Rehman started his coaching career in 2010-2011 cricket season. In 2017-2018 cricket season, Abdul Rehman briefly coached Pakistan A cricket team. In March 2023, Abdul Rehman was named as the head coach of the Pakistan national cricket team for the T20I series against Afghanistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. Multan Sultans (Urdu: ) is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team representing the city of Multan in southern Pakistan in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The team was founded in 2017 as an additional sixth team added to the PSL. The team plays its home matches at Multan Cricket Stadium. The 2017 Pakistan Super League (also known as PSL 2 or, for sponsorship reasons, HBL PSL 2017), was the second season of the Pakistan Super League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league established by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2016. On 19 October 2016, at the 2017 player draft, league chairman Najam Sethi announced that the final of the 2017 tournament might be played in Lahore, Pakistan, depending on the security situation there.
