Abdul Aziz Al-Saud
Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud ( ar, عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود, ʿAbd al ʿAzīz bin ʿAbd ar Raḥman Āl Suʿūd; 15 January 1875Ibn Saud's birth year has been a source of debate. It is generally accepted as 1875, although a few sources give it as 1880. According to British author Robert Lacey's book ''The Kingdom'', a leading Saudi historian found records that show Ibn Saud in 1891 greeting an important tribal delegation. The historian reasoned that a 10 or 11-year-old child (as given by the 1880 birth date) would have been too young to be allowed to greet such a delegation, while an adolescent of 15 or 16 (as given by the 1875 date) would likely have been allowed. When Lacey interviewed one of Ibn Saud's sons prior to writing the book, the son recalled that his father often laughed at records showing his birth date to be 1880. Robert Lacey
Robert Lacey (born 3 January 1944) is a British historian and biographer. He is the author of a number of best-selling biographies, including those of Henry Ford, Eileen Ford, Queen Elizabeth II and other royals, as well as several other works of popular history. He is best known for his work as historian to the Netflix award-winning drama ''The Crown''. Lacey was educated at Selwyn College, Cambridge, where he studied history. Early life Robert grew up in Bristol and won a scholarship to Bristol Grammar School. Lacey is an alumnus of Selwyn College, Cambridge, where he earned a BA in History in 1967, a diploma of education in 1967, and an MA in 1970. He began his writing career as a journalist on the ''Illustrated London News'', and later ''The Sunday Times''. Sa'ad Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud
Sa'ad bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud (1890–1915) was the brother of Abdulaziz, Emir of Nejd (who later founded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). He was one of Abdulaziz's most devoted supporters and a key lieutenant in his early military campaigns. Early life Sa'ad was born in 1890. He was the youngest son of the reigning Emir of Nejd, Abdul Rahman bin Faisal, from his marriage to Sara bint Ahmed Al Sudairi. His full-siblings were Faisal, Noura, Abdulaziz and Bazza and Haya. He also had a number of half-siblings from his father's other marriages, including Muhammad, Abdullah, Ahmed, and Musaid, who all had roles in the Saudi government. The Al Saud family were exiled shortly after Sa'ad's birth, settling in Kuwait. After his brother Abdulaziz captured Riyadh, Sa'ad returned there. Noura Bint Abdul Rahman Al Saud
Noura bint Abdul Rahman Al Saud ( ar, نورة بنت عبد الرحمن آل سعود ''Noura bint ʿAbd ar Raḥman Āl Suʿūd''; 1875 – July 1950) was the eldest daughter of Abdul Rahman bin Faisal, Emir of Nejd, and the elder sister and adviser of King Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia. Madawi Al Rasheed argues that she is the first example of Saudi royal women who are introduced to support the view of the progressive royalty. Early life Noura was born in Riyadh in 1875. She was the eldest daughter of Abdul Rahman bin Faisal bin Turki and full sister of Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman, who would establish the modern Saudi Arabia and rule as its first king.
