Ababeel (NGO)
Ababeel (ابابیل), also known as Ababeel NGO is a charitable trust that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief, food kits and blood donations for needy, poor, orphan and widows and also in emergency in the Chenab Valley's Doda, Kishtwar, Thathri, Bhaderwah, Gandoh and also in Jammu area. The organization assists people irrespective of caste and religion. It is the registered with Sub Registrar Court Doda. Ababeel was founded in July, 2015 by Hassan Babur Nehru and registered in Sub Registrar Office Doda by Syed Imtiaz, Muzammil Wahidi, Mudassir Hassan and Burhan Mir. History Ababeel was started in Doda and after gap of some months, Kishtwar unit of Ababeel created. 2014 India–Pakistan Floods
In September 2014, the Kashmir region suffered disastrous floods across many of its districts caused by torrential rainfall. The Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the Pakistani administered territories of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the province of Punjab were affected by these floods. By 24 September 2014, nearly 277 people in India and about 280 people in Pakistan had died due to the floods. Origin The Jammu and Kashmir union territory and adjoining areas received heavy rainfall from 2 September 2014, during the last stage of the monsoon in India. Unlike much of the rest of Southern Asia, Kashmir valley receives little rainfall during monsoon. This triggered flooding and landslides in India and the adjoining areas of Pakistan. ''Sahūr'' , ''Suhūr'', or ''Suhoor'' (; ar, سحور, suḥūr, lit=of the dawn', 'pre-dawn meal), also called Sahari, Sahrī, or Sehri (Persian/Urdu: سحری, Bangla: সেহরী) is the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting (sawm), before dawn during or outside the Islamic month of Ramadan. The meal is eaten before fajr prayer. Sahur corresponds to iftar- the evening meal during Ramadan, replacing the traditional three meals a day ( breakfast, lunch, and dinner), although in some places dinner is also consumed after iftar later during the night. Chenab River
The Chenab River () is a major river that flows in India and Pakistan, and is one of the 5 major rivers of the Punjab region. It is formed by the union of two headwaters, Chandra and Bhaga, which rise in the upper Himalayas in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh, India. The Chenab flows through the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, India into the plains of Punjab, Pakistan, before ultimately flowing into the Indus River. The waters of the Chenab were allocated to Pakistan under the terms of the Indus Waters Treaty. India is allowed non-consumptive uses such as power generation. The Chenab River is extensively used in Pakistan for irrigation. Its waters are also transferred to the channel of the Ravi River via numerous link canals.
