Ab Pakhsh ( fa, آب پخش, also Romanized as Āb Pakhsh) is a city in Ab Pakhsh District of Dashtestan County, Bushehr province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 15,302 in 3,216 households. The following census in 2011 counted 17,238 people in 4,384 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 18,913 people in 5,250 households. Ab Pakhsh is the 2nd most populous city in Dashtestan County and the 7th most populous city in the Bushehr province. ''Phoenix dactylifera'', commonly known as date or date palm, is a flowering plant species in the palm family, Arecaceae, cultivated for its edible sweet fruit called dates. The species is widely cultivated across northern Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, and is naturalized in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. ''P. dactylifera'' is the type species of genus ''Phoenix'', which contains 12–19 species of wild date palms.
