''Aayirathil Iruvar'' () is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action romance film written, directed and co-produced by Saran. The film features Vinay in dual lead roles and three newcomers, Samuthrika, Swasthika and Kesha Khambhati, as the female leads, while the director's regular composer Bharathwaj scores the music. The film was primarily shot in Thirunelveli, shooting also took place in Hyderabad, Bangkok and Dubai. The film deals with the issue of money laundering and hawala. It began it's production in December 2012 and went through several production delays, it finally released on 22 September 2017. It fared poorly at the box office. K. V. Saravanan, better known as Saran, is an Indian film director active mainly in Tamil cinema. He was once an assistant to K. Balachander. He owns production house called ''Gemini Productions.'' Early life Saran's father T. Kulandaivelayudam worked with the directorate of examinations and many of his relatives are teachers. He finished diploma in visual communications from the College of Arts And Crafts and became an instructor in textile designing. Saran worked as instructor for a year and, during this time, he did some work with a lady called Mohana who was art director for K. Balachander. Rethika Srinivas is an Indian actress who has appeared in Tamil films. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world.
