Aart Staartjes
Aart Staartjes (1 March 1938 – 12 January 2020) was a Dutch actor, director, television presenter and documentary maker from Amsterdam. He was well known for his role on ''Sesamstraat'', the Dutch co-production of ''Sesame Street''. On this show, his character's name was ''Meneer Aart'' (Mr. Aart) and in this persona he authored a book called (Mr. Aart: Life and work of the man who does not want to be named a friend to children). Staartjes used to present the annual arrival of ''Sinterklaas'' in the Netherlands. Early life Aart Staartjes was born in Nieuwendam, a neighbourhood of Amsterdam-Noord. He had an older brother, and a younger sister. They lived in a house on the Nieuwendammer''dijk''. Aart Jan De Geus
Aart Jan de Geus (born 28 July 1955) is a retired Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and businessman. He served as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs from 2002 to 2007. Then he worked as Deputy Secretary-General for the OECD. From 2012 to 2019, De Geus was Chairman and CEO of the Bertelsmann Stiftung. Since January 2020, he has been Chairman of the Goldschmeding Foundation. Education De Geus began studying law at the Utrecht University while also training as a bookkeeper. Aart J. de Geus (born June 11, 1954) is the co-founder, chairman and co-CEO of Synopsys Inc. De Geus graduated with a master's degree in electrical engineering (1978) from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Swiss Federal Institute of technology), EPFL, Switzerland followed by a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University, Texas, United States, in 1985. Aart van der Leeuw (; 23 June 1876 – 17 April 1931) was a Dutch writer of prose fiction and poetry. His reputation rests mostly on two novels, ''Ik en mijn speelman'' (1927) and ''De kleine Rudolf'' (1930). Biography Aart van der Leeuw was born in Hof van Delft into a family of notable merchants. He had a strong bond with his mother, whose storytelling was very influential on him; later he read her his stories and poems. His years in elementary school were sad, apparently, and he later wrote about them in ''Kinderland'' (1914). He attended the gymnasium in Delft, but he was a dreamer as a child who suffered in the harsh school environment where he was ridiculed. He had little interest in his studies (except for Dutch and history), and on top of that he had health problems, with his eyes and ears, which would plague him throughout his life. Aart Den Boer
Aart den Boer (30 December 1852 in Nieuw-Lekkerland – 11 May 1941) was a Dutch architect and contractor. Life Den Boer began his career as a carpenter and, through evening classes, became teacher of technical drawings (and later superintendent of construction). He was also an assistant to C. Smit, director of the shipping company Reederij op de Lek, which ran paddleboat services on the river Lek to Rotterdam. He designed the steam oil mill "De Toekomst" ("The Future" in Dutch) and the retirement home of L. en N. Smit's foundation that was built in 1885 in Nieuw-Lekkerland which was later used from 1958 to 1996 as town hall. Aart Koopmans (12 October 1946 – 15 January 2007) was a Dutch business man, president of the Dutch winter speed skating marathon organisation and founder of the Alternative Elfstedentocht. His father, Bram Koopmans was the organiser for the Amstel Gold Race in road bicycle racing for many years. Koopmans, born in Amsterdam, organised his first Alternative Elfstedentocht in 1975 in Finland due to the winters in the Netherlands being too warm to skate 200 km in open air on ice. In later years, the Alternative Elfstedentochten were organised in various countries like Poland, Czech Republic, Canada, Norway, Sweden and Japan. Aert Schouman or Aart Schouman (4 March 1710 – 5 July 1792) was an 18th-century painter, now better known as a glass engraver, from the Dutch Republic. Schouman was born in Dordrecht. When 15 years old he served as apprentice to the Dordrecht artist Adriaan van der Burg, along with Cornelis Greenwood, the son of his teacher for glass engraving, Frans Greenwood,Aart Schouman in the inventor of the stipple style, which Schouman also worked in. His photos mostly consisted of black and white landscapes with a graphic style, but later transitioned into portraiture.
