Aag Ka Darya (film)
() is a 1966 Pakistani black and white film, directed by Humayun Mirza. The dialogues and story writer was Riaz Shahid, with cinematography by Raza Mir. It stars Shamim Ara and Mohammed Ali in leading roles. An unofficial remake of the 1963 Hindi film ''Mujhe Jeene Do'', it revolves around a bandit and a dancing girl. The film features songs and milli naghmay by Noor Jehan, Naseem Begum, Mala Begum, Irene Parveen, Saleem Raza, Ahmad Rushdi and Masood Rana. is one of the few films for which the poetry is done by the renowned Urdu poet, Josh Malihabadi. Theatrically released on 24 January 1966, the film was a commercially successful film of the year, it was released. The film received praise due to its cinematography but was criticised for copied the plot, and is known for its Nigar Award-winning msuic and national songs. Riaz Shahid
Riaz Shahid (1927 – 1 October 1972) was a Pakistani filmmaker, film writer, and a journalist. Early life and career Riaz Shahid was born in 1927 in Quetta, British India. He belonged to a Punjabi Kashmiri family. He was the father of a famous Pakistani film star Shaan Shahid. Shaan was only one year old, when his father died. His real name was ''Sheikh Riaz'', but was called by his nickname ''Shahid''. He was educated at Islamia College, Lahore, Pakistan. Riaz lived in Lahore where he started his career as a journalist for the newspaper ''Chataan'' and later joined Faiz Ahmed Faiz's ''Lail-o-Nihar''. He also wrote a novel named ''Hazar Dastaan''. Riaz Shahid was introduced as a story and dialogue writer to the Pakistani film industry by his friend, actor Allauddin, in film ''Bharosa'' (1958). The Nigar Awards ( ur, , translit=Inʿām Negār, lit=Picture Awards) were presented in an annual award show to recognize outstanding achievement in Pakistani cinema. The honors are awarded by Nigar Magazine founded in 1948. The Nigar Awards are Pakistan's version of the Academy Awards. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists. ''Ganga Jamna'' (ISO 15919: ''Gaṅgā Jamunā''), also transliterated as ''Ganga Jamuna'' or ''Gunga Jumna'', is a 1961 Indian crime drama film, written and produced by Dilip Kumar, and directed by Nitin Bose, with dialogues written by Wajahat Mirza; Kumar later said that he also ghost-directed and edited the film. Mushtaq Gazdar ( ur, مشتاق گزدر) (1940 – 15 November 2000) was a Pakistani cinematographer, who scripted, directed and produced around 190 short feature films, documentary films and newsreels on subjects including poverty-stricken women, especially those abused, bought and sold in open flesh markets as well as helpless children. Early life and career Mushtaq Gazdar was born in 1940 in Karachi. He did his MSc. degree in physics from the University of Karachi. Abdul Latif Baloch, better known by his screen name Saqi (2 April 1925 – 22 December 1986), was a Pakistani film and television actor. He is known for mostly playing supportive roles in Lollywood movies. He starred in more than 500 Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Pashto films. Early life and family Saqi was born on April 2, 1925, in Baghdad, Iraq, where his father had been appointed during the first world war and later stayed there for a while as a railway employee. Saqi belonged to a Baloch family settled in Dadu District, Sindh. His mother was a Kurd from Iraq. His step-brother ''Abdul Karim Baloch'' served as a general manager at PTV, Karachi Center.
