Aadharshila
''Aadharshila'' (English: The Foundation Stone) is a 1982 Hindi film written, produced and directed by Ashok Ahuja, starring Naseeruddin Shah and Anita Kanwar. The film won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie and the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director. Synopsis The film is about Ajay (Naseeruddin Shah), a young filmmaker, hoping to direct his first film. He has just got married, and he shares his hopes with his wife Asha (Anita Kanwar). Asha works as a teacher to support them, while Ajay takes on other work, but is always hoping to make his film. ''Aadharshila'' portrays the struggles of young people - especially graduates of the Film and Television Institute of India - to find a foothold in the Indian film industry. The film ends with the completion of the film-within-a-film. Neena Gupta (born 4 June 1959) is an Indian actress and television director who works in Hindi films and television. Known for her work in both art-house and commercial films, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a young widow in '' Woh Chokri'' (1994). The Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film is awarded during annual Filmfare Awards, given by the Filmfare magazine. Anita Kanwar is an Indian film and television actor who is best known for her role as ''Lajjo ji'' in the 1980s Doordarshan mega soap opera ''Buniyaad''. Krishna Kalle ( kn, ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ ಕಲ್ಲೆ; 18 December 1940 – 15 March 2015) was an Indian playback singer in Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada films. Childhood Kalle's family was from Karwar, Uttara Kannada. She was born and grew up in Kanpur, where her father was employed. At the age of 16, she began singing over the Kanpur station of All India Radio (AIR) and at stage performances in Uttar Pradesh, the state where Kanpur is located. Career When Kalle came to Mumbai to visit relatives, the singer Arun Date happened to hear her sing.
