''A Real Live One'' is a live album by English heavy metal music, heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 22 March 1993. The album tracks were recorded at 9 different venues in Europe during the Fear of the Dark Tour in 1992. This album features songs from the ''Somewhere in Time (Iron Maiden album), Somewhere in Time'' (1986) through ''Fear of the Dark (Iron Maiden album), Fear of the Dark'' (1992) eras, while counterpart ''A Real Dead One'' only contains songs from the pre-''Somewhere in Time'' albums. When Iron Maiden re-released all of their pre-''The X Factor (album), The X Factor'' albums in 1998, this album was combined with ''A Real Dead One'' to form the 2-disc ''A Real Live Dead One''. The album cover was made by longtime Iron Maiden cover artist Derek Riggs, whose work for the ''Fear of the Dark'' album was rejected. Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. While fluid in the early years of the band, the lineup for most of the band's history has consisted of Harris, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers. The band have released 41 albums, including 17 studio albums, 13 live albums, four EPs and seven compilations. They have also released 47 singles and 20 video albums. Derek Riggs
Derek Riggs (born 13 February 1958) is a contemporary British artist best known for creating the band Iron Maiden's mascot, "Eddie". Career Born in Portsmouth, England, Riggs is a self-taught artist, both in his traditional painting and in his digital work. He began drawing and painting as early as he can remember. He also attended art school, but he was expelled after complaining about the course. Riggs' most famous achievement is his work with Iron Maiden and his creation of Eddie, the band's mascot and subject of their album and single covers. Riggs' first picture of Eddie was originally entitled "Electric Matthew Says Hello," and was actually painted for a possible punk cover. Iron Maiden's management came across it while looking through Riggs' portfolio, and asked him to add hair to the figure to make it look less punk-like. "Wasting Love" is a song by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It is the third single from their ninth studio album, ''Fear of the Dark'', released in 1992. Synopsis The song was a collaboration of singer Bruce Dickinson, and guitarist Janick Gers. The lyrics deal with the subject of loneliness brought on by sex outside the context of love. The single was only officially released in the Netherlands, although different one-track promotional CDs exist, one for U.S. radio stations and another for Spain, which had the only vinyl version of the single. The single cover is the third Iron Maiden single not to feature the band's iconic mascot Eddie on the front cover (the previous examples being " Running Free (live)" and "From Here to Eternity"). Adrian Smith
Adrian Frederick "H" Smith (born 27 February 1957) is an English guitarist best known as a member of heavy metal band Iron Maiden, for whom he also writes songs and performs backing vocals both live and in the studio. Smith grew up in London and became interested in rock music at 15. He soon formed a friendship with future Iron Maiden guitarist Dave Murray, who inspired him to take up the guitar. After leaving school at 16, he formed the band Urchin, which he led until their demise in 1980. He joined Iron Maiden in November 1980, replacing Dennis Stratton. Following a short-lived solo project called ASAP, he left Iron Maiden in 1990 and, after a year-long hiatus, formed the band The Untouchables which later became Psycho Motel. The song is about a young man who wants to learn the future from an old prophet with a crystal ball. The young man thinks he is going mad and seeks the old prophet to help him cope with his visions/nightmares. The prophet's advice is ignored by the young man and they become angry with each other. "From Here to Eternity" is a song by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released as the second single from their album ''Fear of the Dark'', released in 1992. Synopsis The song is the fourth and most recent song in the ongoing saga of "Charlotte the Harlot" (other songs include "Charlotte the Harlot," "22 Acacia Avenue," "Hooks in You”). The song tells the tale of Charlotte going on a fateful motorcycle ride with the Devil. This is the first studio single to not feature Eddie in the artwork - second overall, after the live version of "Running Free" - using a picture of the song's music video instead, and it is one of two single from ''Fear of the Dark'' to not feature the mascot, the other being "Wasting Love".
