A Grain Of Truth
''A Grain of Truth'' (Polish original title: Ziarno prawdy) is a 2015 Polish film directed by Borys Lankosz, film adaptation of the novel of the same title by Zygmunt Miłoszewski. The filming period lasted from April 30 to May 27, 2014. Pictures were shot in Sandomierz, Śmiłów, Wysiadłów (gas station), Chełmno (cathedral), Otwock, Warsaw and Lublin. The national premiere took place on January 30, 2015, and the world premiere on January 19, 2015. Plot The naked body of a young woman is found under the Sandomierz synagogue. Prosecutor Teodor Szacki begins a murder investigation. It turns out that the corpse of the woman was bled, and the expert says that the murder weapon found on the spot is used during ritual slaughter of animals. Linking to the dark history of ritual murders of children triggers anti-Semitic mood. Borys Lankosz
Borys Lankosz (born 31 March 1973, Kraków) is a Polish film director. He graduated from the National Film School in Łódź. His debut film "Evolution" (2001) received several awards, i.a. the Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival. He is the creator of the documentary series ''From a Different Angle'', filmed in Iran, China and Zimbabwe, and the films ''Kurc'' and ''Poles Poles'' (with Wislawa Szymborska, Stanislaw Lem, Krzysztof Penderecki). His feature debut titled ''Rewers'' (''Reverse'') won first prize, the Golden Lion, at the Polish Film Festival in 2009 in Gdynia. Lankosz is also a director and screenwriter of several documentary and short films: ''Radegast'' (documentary film), ''Alien VI'' (short). Zygmunt Miłoszewski (born May 8, 1976 in Warsaw) is a Polish writer. Previously he was a journalist and editor for the Polish edition of ''Newsweek''. He is an author of novels, features and short stories. Novels Zygmunt Miłoszewski published his first novel ''Domofon'' ("The Intercom") in 2005. It is a horror/mystery story about a group of people trapped in a haunted block of flats. Film Studio Zebra and Juliusz Machulski bought the rights for a film adaptation of ''Domofon''. His second novel was ''The Adder Mountains'' ("Góry Zmijowe"), a fantasy for younger readers. Jerzy Józef Trela (14 March 1942 – 15 May 2022) was a Polish actor. In 2003 he starred in the film ''An Ancient Tale: When the Sun Was a God'' under Jerzy Hoffman. He is also known for ''Three Colours: White, White'' (1994), ''Quo Vadis (2001 film), Quo Vadis'' (2001) and ''Ida (film), Ida'' (2013). Magdalena Walach (born 13 May 1976) is a Polish film and theater actress. In 1999 she completed studies at the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków. She is a member of the Bagatela Theatre acting company. Walach is married to actor Paweł Okraska, with whom she had their son Piotr (2006). Career Magdalena Walach is a graduate of Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts (1999).
