Jess Robbins (April 30, 1886 – March 11, 1973) was an American film director, writer and producer. He directed more than 70 films between 1913 and 1927. He was the first director to direct Laurel and Hardy in the same motion picture, namely ''The Lucky Dog''. Mathilde Brundage
Mathilde Brundage (September 22, 1859 – May 6, 1939) was an American actress. She appeared in 87 films between 1914 and 1928. Also known as Bertha Brundage, she was born in Louisville, Kentucky. For much of her life, her family thwarted her desire to act on stage. Brundage's film debut came in ''The Crucible'' (1914); her last film was ''That's My Daddy'' (1928). On May 6, 1939, Brundage died in St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California. Vitagraph Studios Films
Vitagraph Studios, also known as the Vitagraph Company of America, was a United States motion picture studio. It was founded by J. Stuart Blackton and Albert E. Smith in 1897 in Brooklyn, New York, as the American Vitagraph Company. By 1907, it was the most prolific American film production company, producing many famous silent films. It was bought by Warner Bros. in 1925. History In 1896, English émigré Blackton was moonlighting as a reporter/artist for the New York ''Evening World'' when he was sent to interview Thomas Edison about his new film projector. The inventor talked the entrepreneurial reporter into buying a set of films and a projector. A year later, Blackton and business partner Smith founded the American Vitagraph Company in direct competition with Edison. A third partner, distributor William "Pop" Rock, joined in 1899. Buddy Messinger
Buddy Messinger (born Melvin Joseph Messinger; 26 October 1907 – 25 October 1965) was an American actor who was cast in substantial roles in dozens of films during the silent film era. He began his career as a jovial chubby child actor. With the advent of sound films he was relegated mostly to bit parts. His sister Gertrude Messinger was also a child actor. They appeared in several Fox fairytale movies for children. She transitioned to speaking roles in B-movies during the 1930s continuing her career into the 1950s. He featured in a series of "Edgar" films including ''Edgar's Sunday Courtship'', ''Edgar Camps Out'', and ''Edgar's Little Saw'' in 1920 and 1921. He appeared in a series of comedy films for Century Film Corporation.
