''A Double Life'' or ''Double Destiny'' (French: ''Double destin'', German: ''Das zweite Leben'') is a 1954 French-West German drama film based upon the play by Jean Giraudoux, directed by Victor Vicas and starring Michel Auclair, Simone Simon and Barbara Rütting.Goble p.742 It was shot at the Wiesbaden Studios in Hesse and on location around Paris and Kiedrich in the Rhineland. Victor Vicas (25 March 1918 – 9 December 1985) was a Russian-born French film director and screenwriter. His film ''The Wayward Bus'' was entered into the 7th Berlin International Film Festival. Walter Carl Clemens, Jr. (born April 6, 1933) is an American political scientist best known for advancing complexity science as an approach to the study of international relations and comparative politics. He has been active in the analysis of complexity science, arms control and disarmament, and U.S. relations with communist and post-communist countries. Karl Gerhart "Gert" Fröbe (; 25 February 1913 – 5 September 1988) was a German actor. Bernhard Wicki (28 October 1919 – 5 January 2000) was an Austrian actor and film director. Life and career Wicki studied in the city of Breslau such topics as art history, history and German literature. In 1938, he transferred to the drama school of the Staatliches Schauspielhaus in Berlin. In 1939, because of his membership in the ''Bündische Jugend'', he was imprisoned for many months in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Kiedrich is a municipality in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany. Geography Kiedrich lies in the Rheingau on the south slope of the Taunus, approximately 2 km north from the town of Eltville am Rhein and 3 km from the banks of the Rhine. Kiedrich borders on the community of Schlangenbad in the north, and on the town of Eltville in the east, south, and west.
