AZ Alkmaar (women)
AZ or AZ Vrouwen was a women's association football club based in Alkmaar and the Zaanstreek, Netherlands. They were affiliated with the AZ men's team. They were founder members of the Eredivisie Vrouwen in 2007 and won the first three editions of the championship. In February 2011 AZ announced they were withdrawing support for their women's section, for financial reasons. Telstar entered a team in the 2011–12 women's Eredivisie and most of the AZ players signed for the newly formed club. In Januari 2022 AZ announced they were looking into restarting with a women's section. Two months later AZ revealed they were going to financially support and were working closely with VV Alkmaar. AZ Alkmaar
Alkmaar Zaanstreek (), better known as AZ Alkmaar or simply AZ (), is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and the Zaan district. The club plays in the Eredivisie, the highest professional football league in the Netherlands, and hosts home matches at the AFAS Stadion. AZ has won the Eredivisie twice, in 1980–81 and 2008–09. In the same season as their first league title, they also reached the UEFA Cup Final, which they lost to Ipswich Town. In addition, the team has won the KNVB Cup on four occasions and one Johan Cruyff Shield. Chantal De Ridder
Chantal Alida Maria de Ridder (born 19 January 1989) is a Dutch football striker, who plays for BeNe League club AFC Ajax as well as the senior Netherlands women's national football team. Club career Before signing for Ajax in January 2013, De Ridder last played for Turbine Potsdam in Germany's Bundesliga. She had previously competed in the Netherlands' Eredivisie, winning four titles with Ter Leede and AZ. She scored her first goal for Turbine in the 10–0 2011–12 Champions League home win against Glasgow City. Due to a long term knee injury suffered in December 2011, she only played seven Bundesliga matches. 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League was the tenth edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held in London, England on 26 May 2011 at Craven Cottage. French side Olympique Lyon won the competition after finishing runner-up the previous year. Lyon became the first French team to win the competition. Team allocation and distribution On 14 June 2010 UEFA announced the entry list. A total of 51 teams from 43 UEFA associations will participate. The UEFA Women's Champions League 2009–10 was the first edition of the newly branded tournament, and the ninth edition of a UEFA tournament for women's champion football clubs. For the first time the top 8 leagues of the UEFA were awarded two entry places in this year's season.
