ANO Glyfada
The Athletic Nautical Club of Glyfada , or "ANOG" (Greek: Αθλητικός Ναυτικός Όμιλος Γλυφάδας, "ΑΝΟΓ") was founded by 20 local sportsmen in 1946 and is located in Glyfada, Athens. The first name of the club was ''Athletic Club of Glyfada'' (AOG), (Αθλητικός Όμιλος Γλυφάδας) and the departments was basketball, volleyball, swimming, track and field and last water Polo. In 1956 was founded the club ''Nautical Athletic Club of Glyfada'' (NAOG), (Ναυτικός Αθλητικός Όμιλος Γλυφάδας). Glyfada
Glyfada ( el, Γλυφάδα, ) is a suburb in South Athens located in the Athens Riviera along the Athens coast. It is situated in the southern parts of the Athens' Urban Area. The area stretches from the foot of the Hymettus mountain to the Saronic Gulf. It is the largest of Athens' southern suburbs. History In ancient times, the area was a deme known as Aixone (). The Greek Women's Water Polo A1 League ( el, Ελληνικό Πρωτάθλημα Υδατοσφαίρισης της Α1 Γυναικών) is the premier championship for women's water polo teams in Greece. It was founded in 1988, and it is currently contested by eight teams. Greek League is ranked as one of the top national domestic leagues in European water polo. The champion, the runner-up and the third-placed team qualify for the LEN Euro League. The first champion was Ethnikos Piraeus. During the next years Glyfada NSC and NC Vouliagmeni dominated. The Greek Water Polo cup is the second most important competition of Greek men's waterpolo and is organised by KOE (Hellenic Swimming Federation). It was first held in 1953. Initially started as a competition in memory of Pantelis Psychas, Greek athlete of the swimming. The competition was interrupted from 1959 to 1983. Moreover, it wasn't held in 1993-94 season. From 1998-99 season the Final Four system was instituted. Olympiacos Piraeus have won the most titles (23), followed by Ethnikos Piraeus (12). Women's LEN Trophy
The Women's LEN Trophy is LEN's second-tier competition for women's water polo clubs. It was first held in 2000 as the LEN Women's Cup Winners' Cup. It was contested for many seasons by around 15 teams, which could qualify for it either directly due to high ranking in their domestic league or by being eliminated at certain stages of the Champions' Cup. After the last reformations in the European competitions system by LEN, only four teams contesting for the trophy, coming after elimination at that season's LEN Euro League quarterfinals stage.
