AKA (rapper)
Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (born 28 January 1988), known professionally as AKA, is a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained significance after releasing his single "Victory Lap" which was released from his debut studio album, '' Altar Ego'' (2011). Forbes continued his success by releasing studio albums which include '' Levels'' (2014), ''Touch My Blood'' (2018), Bhovamania (2020) and the collaborative album, ''Be Careful What You Wish For'' alongside Anatii (2017). In April 2020 Forbes alongside vodka brand ''Cruz'' launched the watermelon-flavoured drink with his initial on the bottles. That same month, Forbes was featured as a special guest on WWE ''Live'' events which were held in Johannesburg and Cape Town. As for 2019, he was the roastee for the Comedy Central Roast special. Tweezy
Tumelo Thandokuhle Mathebula (born 24 October 1992), professionally known as Tweezy, is a South African record producer and rapper from Johannesburg, South Africa. Early life and career Tumelo Mathebula moved to Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province after the passing of his parents at the age of 6. He was introduced to a music making software called FL Studio in grade 10 which he thought was a "music making game", he later discovered that it was in fact a music making software. He joined a music group called "Ghetto Prophecy" that consisted of 8 members. The group produced a song called "Oh My" which ranked number 16 on the top 40 songs of YFM and was played frequently on Metro FM as well as 5FM in 2011. The group unfortunately disbanded because of the lack of funding which is when Tweezy decided to venture into the music industry as a producer. Metro FM Awards
The 15th installment of the annual Metro FM Music Awards is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the South African music industry by honouring musicians who did exceedingly well in their field throughout 2015. The show first aired on SABC 1 on February 27, 2016. The winner in each category will receive a R100,000 prize for each category they win. Linda Mkhize (22 June 1981 – 8 August 2018), better known by his stage name PRO and formerly as Pro Kid, was a South African rapper and producer. He was known for rapping in a mixture of South African township Soweto vernacular ( tsotsi taal) and English. His music spoke on township realities. Khuli Chana
Khulane Morule (born August 27, 1982), better known by his stage name Khuli Chana, is a South African Motswako rapper. Early life and career Morule was born in the Mmabatho, North West Province and started rapping motswako at a young age. He was a member of a rap group called Morafe. He then proceeded to go solo, after the rap group took a break from releasing music as a unit. Khuli Chana rose to fame after releasing his major successful album ''Motswakoriginator'', which infuses both the Setswana and English languages. KORA Awards
The KORA All Africa Music Awards are music awards given annually for musical achievement in sub-Saharan Africa. The awards were founded in 1994 by Benin born businessman, Ernest Adjovi, after a discussion in Namibia with the country's President Hage Geingob. The award is named after the kora, a West African plucked chordophone. The awards have been subject to several postponements since 1994 with a variety of reasons given. Problems have arisen with contracts signed, large sums of monies have been paid and the event postponed. In 2011 Adjovi was detained by the Nigerian Police Force with allegations he defrauded three Nigerian bodies. ''Levels'' (sometimes stylized as ''LEVELS'' or ''LVLS'') is the second studio album by South African rapper AKA, released by Vth Season. It is the follow-up to his debut release, ''Altar Ego''. The album was made available a week before its originally announced 8 July release date on 30 June 2014. The album was certified gold on 17 June 2015, selling over 20 000 copies almost 11 months after its release. The album's release was preceded by the singles "Jealousy", "Kontrol", " Congratulate" and "Run Jozi (Godly)" which features K.O of Teargas.
