AIM Media Indiana (formerly Home News Enterprises) is an American printer and publisher of daily and weekly newspapers, based in Columbus, Indiana. Its flagship newspaper is '' The Republic'' in Columbus, and its other newspaper holdings also cover small cities and counties south and east of Indianapolis. AIM Media Texas is a United States publisher of daily and non-daily newspapers, primarily in the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. In 2012, Freedom Communications began selling most of its newspaper portfolio. Former Dallas Morning News president and American Consolidated Media founder Jeremy Halbreich founded AIM Media in order to purchase the Texas newspapers from Freedom in a deal worth $70–80 million. Freedom Communications, Inc., was an American media conglomerate that operated daily and weekly newspapers, websites and mobile applications, as well as ''Coast Magazine'' and other specialty publications. Headquartered at 625 N. Grand Avenue in Santa Ana, California, it was owned by a private equity firm, 2100 Trust, established in 2010 by investor Aaron Kushner Freedom's flagship newspaper was the ''Orange County Register'', based in Santa Ana. Ownership Founder R.C. Hoiles gained a one-third interest in his first newspaper (''The Alliance Review'' in Ohio) sometime in the 1910s.
